Wood

Formwork timber must be strong, dimensionally stable and easy to work with. Softwoods such as spruce or pine are often chosen because they are lightweight yet offer sufficient strength. Plywood or laminated timber is also used for heavier applications or reusable formwork. Wood for formwork is used in:

– Foundations, floors and columns
– Walls and ceilings
– Bridges, tunnels and other concrete structures
– Depending on the application, a choice can be made between single use (simple planks) or multiple use (formwork panels with coating or plywood).
